About the Role:
Are you a skilled Electrician looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity? Our client is now hiring for their foundry in Wodonga, who are looking for experienced professionals to join their team.
Our client is a leading global manufacturer of cast iron and steel products who have a long history of providing high-quality products and services to their customers. The Wodonga foundry is a state-of-the-art facility that produces castings for a variety of industries, including mining, rail, and construction.

Shifts: Predominantly day shifts. Must have flexibility to work other shifts if required
Pay Rate: Day Shift $53.35 - Afternoon Shift $61.35 - Night Shift $69.36 plus overtime and public holiday penalties
Week Tool Allowance: $18.51

What You Will Do:
  • Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on a wide range of equipment including motors, pumps, PLC-controlled systems, furnaces, cranes, and conveyor systems.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on electrical and control systems in a safe manner.
  • Participate in planned shutdowns and major overhauls.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian electrical standards and site-specific procedures.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment, including instrumentation and control panels.
  • Liaise with external contractors during upgrades or installations, ensuring all work meets high standards.
  • Support and drive safety initiatives including hazard identification, risk assessments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities by identifying reliability and safety issues and proposing solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System), including job notes, fault causes, and follow-up actions.
  • Mentor apprentices and support their development through on-the-job training and guidance.
  
Qualifications:
  • VIC Electrical Licence (A-Grade)
  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
  • Proven experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in heavy manufacturing or foundry environments
  • Strong fault-finding skills with three-phase equipment and PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
  • Understanding of relevant Australian standards (e.g. AS/NZS 3000, AS 4024)
  • Experience with VSDs, instrumentation, and motor control systems
  • Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance reporting (e.g., MEX)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to mentoring apprentices and upholding team culture
