About the Role:

Are you passionate about turf management and cricket? Our client is seeking a skilled Turf Wicket Curator to maintain and enhance the Dandenong community’s cricket facilities to its highest standard. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our wickets, practice facilities and surrounding grounds are safe, consistent and well-presented for local clubs and sporting groups.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, maintain and present high-quality turf cricket wickets and practice facilities
• Identify and manage turf pests, weeds and diseases
• Apply modern turf management and irrigation practices
• Maintain all machinery, plant and equipment in good working order
• Record maintenance activities and contribute to continuous improvement
• Assist with turf management across other Council-controlled areas as required

Requirements:

• Certificate III in Turf Management (or equivalent qualification)
• Chemical Users Certificate of Competency
• Strong understanding of turf grass management, seed selection and cultural practices
• Proven experience operating and maintaining horticultural and turf equipment
• Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to liaise with residents, contractors and sporting clubs
• Sound knowledge of safe work practices and quality control techniques
