Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Development Assessment Engineering Officer to join their dynamic team as this opportunity is ideal for a civil engineering professional with a strong background in development assessment and a passion for serving the local Blacktown community.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess development application referrals related to drainage and flooding
• Provide administrative support to the Drainage Development Assessment team
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate processing of development applications
• Monitor and record development application referrals and manage documentation using Technology One and CM9 systems
• Maintain high standards of record-keeping in line with Council procedures
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering specifications and processes

Essential Criteria

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience in assessing development applications in a local government setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflict and negotiate positive outcomes
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and working effectively within a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong time management, organisational skills, and attention to detail
• Advanced skills in corporate databases including Technology One, CM9 and GIS
• Ability to perform duties independently and manage a high-volume workload
• Experience using the NSW Government Planning Portal
