Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Development Assessment Engineering Officer to join their dynamic team as this opportunity is ideal for a civil engineering professional with a strong background in development assessment and a passion for serving the local Blacktown community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess development application referrals related to drainage and flooding
- Provide administrative support to the Drainage Development Assessment team
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate processing of development applications
- Monitor and record development application referrals and manage documentation using Technology One and CM9 systems
- Maintain high standards of record-keeping in line with Council procedures
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering specifications and processes
Essential Criteria
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Experience in assessing development applications in a local government setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflict and negotiate positive outcomes
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and working effectively within a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong time management, organisational skills, and attention to detail
- Advanced skills in corporate databases including Technology One, CM9 and GIS
- Ability to perform duties independently and manage a high-volume workload
- Experience using the NSW Government Planning Portal
