Mechanical Fitter - $63/hr - Afternoon Shift - Gold Coast (Carrara)

We’re looking for a qualified Mechanical Fitter to join a busy industrial maintenance crew in Carrara, working for one of Australia’s biggest names in recycling and sustainable manufacturing.

This is steady, ongoing work where you’ll be hands-on with big gear, solid pay, and a crew that actually gets along.

$63/hr + consistent Mon–Fri afternoon shifts (1pm–9pm)
Ongoing work in a large, stable operation
Afternoon roster = sleep in, get stuff done in the mornings
Work with modern plant equipment in a safety-first environment
Real variety — every day’s a mix of fixes, upgrades, and problem solving
Your day-to-day:

• Conducting preventative maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and performing timely fixes
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reports
• Collaborating with production and safety teams to ensure compliance
• Assisting with installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Ensuring all work complies with workplace health and safety standards
• Responding promptly to breakdowns and emergencies

What we need from you:

Cert III in Mechanical Trade (Fitting & Turning) or equivalent
Solid experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
Good fault-finding skills and happy to work independently
Welding/fabrication ability
Reliability, attention to detail, and a can-do approach
Able to read and follow technical drawings
Forklift ticket’s a bonus but not essential
