About the role:
Reporting to the Team Leader the Fitter Operator will operate, maintain and repair machinery within the Wodonga facility to produce high quality, low cost products. The role also includes complying with all HSE requirements, ensuring all products manufactured comply with specification, ensuring that all quality procedures are followed, and ensuring action is taken to resolve problems and ensuring good performance of equipment.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on machinery and equipment.
Troubleshoot and fix mechanical faults or issues.
Perform preventive maintenance to ensure machinery operates optimally.
Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, instruments, and machinery.
Align and adjust mechanical components for proper functionality.
Fabricate or modify mechanical parts using cutting, welding, and machining techniques.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects and resolve technical problems.
Maintain accurate records of work performed.
Follow health and safety regulations and practices.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
Participate in training and professional development.
Requirements:
Background in mechanical applications.
Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, tools, and equipment.
Manufacturing process experience.
Forklift Licence (desirable)
Basic Computer Literacy.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and manuals.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
Skill in using various hand and power tools.
Competence in welding, cutting, and machining techniques.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong attention to detail and precision.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Flexibility to work in different environments.
Ability to work Un-supervised.
Mechanical trade qualifications.
