About the Role

Our client is a terrific Australian-owned, family-run construction and engineering company specialising in the delivery of complex infrastructure. They have experienced tremendous growth, and as a result are now looking to take on an experienced Safety Coordinator to assist with a $100m Dam project in Eurobodalla, NSW. The project is expected to take 2 years to complete.

This position will become permanent at the completion of the project ONLY if the successful candidate is willing to relocate to Sydney.

Candidates for this position MUST have experience on civil construction projects.

As a Safety Coordinator, you will you will influence the Project Manager and external stakeholders to achieve continual safety improvement, using your exceptional communication skills and strong technical expertise.

Your key responsiblities will include:

• Provide safety expertise and advice to the project team and report directly to the Project Manager with a dotted reporting line to the Safety Manager
• Ensure company WHS Management system complianc
• Present safety information to the team at pre-start and tool box meetings
• Practical resolution of WHS issues with relevant personnel
• Ensure sub-contractors and new employees are onboarded as per site requirements

About You

• Experience in civil construction is essential
• A base knowledge of relevant WHS Legislation
• Qualifications and training in WH&S are desirable
• A commitment to and passion for safety at work with the ability to promote safety to all employees – management, trades personnel and ancillary staff
• Ability to work independently
