About the Role

Our client is a terrific Australian-owned, family-run construction and engineering company specialising in the delivery of complex infrastructure. They have experienced tremendous growth, and as a result are now looking to take on an experienced Safety Coordinator Manager to join their growing team and assist on several key projects across their business, starting with one of their Transport Access Projects in Stanmore, or Denistone.

Experience in Civil Construction is ESSENTIAL for this position. It would also be desirable if candidates were had experience working in the rail corridor.

As a Safety Coordinator you will be responsible for providing expertise and advice to the project team on all projects regarding all HSE related issues.

Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in developing and reviewing new and existing Safe Work Method Statements and Daily Pre-start sheets prior to the commencement of, and during the course of the projects
  • Implement incident management procedures where it has been identified that sub-contractors have breached site safety rules
  • Manage, undertake and document regular WHS and environmental inspections as required
  • Deliver WHS training
  • Report routinely on WHS performance including monthly HSE reports
  • Implement proactive activities to enhance workplace health & safety

About You

You will be a highly experienced Safety Coordinator with a personal commitment to health, safety, and protection of the environment.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Proven experience in civil construction and the rail corridor
  • 3-5 years’ experience in HSE in the construction, infrastructure or other relevant industries.
  • Sound knowledge of HSE legislation
  • Highly develop incident investigation and report writing skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Sound computer skills
