About the Role

Our client is a terrific Australian owned civil construction enterprise based in Smeaton Grange who employ highly qualified and experienced staff and operate a large range of specialist plant and equipment delivering a wide range of civil construction services including civil construction & Infrastructure, major earthmoving & earthworks, government & RMS works, remediation, demolition, industrial & commercial subdivisions, and residential subdivision in several areas throughout Sydney. They have experienced tremendous growth and as a result are looking to take on a full time Civil Estimator to join their team and assist with the delivery of key projects across their business.

Candidates for this position MUST have experience on Subdivision projects to be considered.

As a Civil Estimator will assist in the execution of civil tenders, including communicating with clients and sub-contractors, as well as seeing through the complete life cycle of a tender from receipt to handover to project team. You will also prepare accurate pricing estimates by analysing proposals and requirements on new projects, as well as change orders on existing contracts

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Tender management, submission and pricing
  • Management of cost estimations
  • Ensure adherence to Legislative Frameworks, Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems policies and procedures
  • Maintain a current knowledge and understanding of industry and client compliance requirements and trends.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers/customers/

About You

You will be an experienced Civil Estimator with proven experience and reliablity in previous roles.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Engineering degree or Tertiary qualification
  • 3+ years’ experience in the civil estimating space with particular interest in the following sectors: RMS, rail, subdivisions, bulk excavations, complex infrastructures and bridges.
  • Exceptional prioritisation and organisational skills, including working to deadlines;
  • Ability to problem solve and provide input to alternative construction methodologies;
  • AutoCad experience;
  • First principal estimating knowledge;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Advanced computer literacy, including experience in Microsoft programs; and
  • Current drivers’ licence.
