About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced and versatile Chef to join the team at a Defence hospitality and catering facility in Hobart. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality meals and supporting daily Mess operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present meals for Defence members and public servants
- Assist with menu planning, food preparation and stock rotation
- Maintain hygiene, safety and cleanliness in the kitchen and equipment areas
- Support breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning teas, bar snacks and functions
- Complete routine administration duties including HACCP paperwork and toolbox talks
- Help guide and train kitchen staff when required to do so
Requirements:
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (required)
- Current RSA or willingness to obtain before starting
- Police Check (issued within the last 30 days)
- Ability to obtain Defence Clearance (must have full AUS working rights)
- Flexible and reliable, able to work a variety of shifts across mornings, evenings and weekends
- Current Driver’s Licence
