We are seeking an experienced Claims Officer to join a Governance & Procurement team within a large corporate services environment. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong insurance claims handling experience who enjoys working across diverse stakeholders and ensuring effective risk management.
About the Role
As a Claims Officer, you’ll play a key role in the administration and management of commercial insurance arrangements. Your work will ensure that assets are protected and claims are processed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with all relevant legislation. You will liaise with claimants, insurers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure claims are resolved in a commercially effective manner while minimising liability and costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage insurance claims from receipt to resolution, including investigations, documentation and stakeholder communication
- Work closely with loss adjusters, contractors and service managers to ensure timely claim management
- Monitor high-value, complex or sensitive claims and escalate where appropriate
- Maintain accurate claims history records and prepare regular reports
- Process premium accounts and ensure coverage details are up to date
- Stay informed on relevant legislation and insurance practice developments
- Promote positive working relationships across internal teams and external partners
- Support workplace health, safety and compliance requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in insurance claims handling.
- Strong computer literacy and record-keeping skills
- Certificate IV in General Insurance
- You’ll be proactive, detail-oriented and capable of managing sensitive claims with
- professionalism and integrity
